Gallery: Philadelphia children missing for more than a decade

After three Ohio women were rescued after spending roughly a decade in captivity, I looked at the cases of Philadelphians who had also gone missing as children and remained so 10 or more years later. I researched the cases, obtained their photos and wrote the captions. Click the photo to see the gallery on Philly.com

Here is the text that accompanied this gallery:

Children are reported missing every day. A few generate widespread media attention. The vast majority — more than 99 percent of missing children, according to the Department of Justice — are located or return home safely. Some are found years later, like three Ohio women who were rescued Monday after having been abducted separately about 10 years ago. And other cases remain open for decades. Here are nine Philadelphians who were reported missing as children at least 10 years ago and have never been located. All of their cases are still listed in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s database.

Anyone who has information about any of the cases can call NCMEC at 1-800-843-5678 (THE-LOST) or Philadelphia police.
